    The Battle of Asgard

In the days long before the rise of Teleios, the realm of Asgard lived in peace under Thor’s rule for many generations. It was a quiet land, full of magic and power, and Thor was a wise and just ruler, in a similar vein to his father, Odin. Stories of Thor’s prowess and power also brought a sense of pride to his people, and an air of caution to anyone who would dare oppose him, as Thor would do whatever was necessary to protect his people.

    Then came the Beast.

The Beast heard of Thor’s strength and decided to test his resolve. He was also discontent with his lot in the Jungle and as one of the agents weapons of power, and wanted to claim a realm of his own. He gathered all of the power he could and descended upon the realm of Asgard, destroying villages and leaving a mass of bodies in his wake. The Beast could not be stopped by ordinary means – no mortal weapon could pierce it’s thick hide – so when Thor and the hammer Mjolnir came to the aide of his people, the Asgardians believed that they were saved. However, the Beast would not be slain so easily, and Thor found himself fighting a losing battle, despite the fact that Thor had defeated many creatures in his time.

Not one for pride when the safety of his people were concerned, Thor reached out to those in the neighboring realms who would help him. Several came to his aid including Isis and Hecate with their powerful magic, Ares and Odin, as well as the lady Artemis. They lent all their power into helping stop this foe, and for some time it seemed as though they were gaining ground, but in the end, the Beast only came back stronger. The Asgardians were losing ground, and with it the realm.

Thor came to the decision, not lightly, that the only thing he could do to destroy the Beast is to close the realm and take his people somewhere save. Odin offered the people of Asgard safe passage to Valhalla, and Thor and Artemis returned to Thor’s castle in Asgard to finish what the Beast had started. They fought their way through to get to the heart of the castle where the power of the realm was located in order to retrieve Thor’s hammer and symbol of his power, Mjolnir. Thor managed to take it, and begin the process of closing the realm, but as he and Artemis began to make their escape she was struck down by the Beast.

Thor tried to save her, but he had no recourse. The realm was closing faster than he could compensate, and he needed to get back to his people. He fled, and the Beast claimed one last life in his quest for power. Neither were ever seen again.

    Dear Gabriel,

Demeter contacted me and said that you wished to be closer. I thought that was a bit of an odd request for a gift from her, but hey. I’m not really one to deny people what they went. Granted, I am also not your respective parent, but I’d like to think that I can do a good stand in every now and again.

I’m assuming at this point you’ve seen the mailbox. It works in the way that most mailboxes do. You ever want to drop me a line, all you have to do is slip it inside. If you want to tell me about your day, ask me any questions – maybe even start up a lively debate (debates are awesome, I love debates) then be my guest. I am your pen pal. We can talk about whatever you want.

I know this isn’t exactly much for a first letter, but considering you’re not my Gabriel, I’m not sure where the similarities end and the differences begin. That being said, I’m looking forward to getting to know you, mine or not.

    All my love,

    Mom

    Byblos

Created by the Egyptian goddess of magic, the realm of Byblos exists on a rather expansive island. The local civilizations are spread out across many acres of land, and there are several kingdoms in varying sizes and degrees that the people are spread between. There are endless forests, lots of fresh water and game, and while the kingdoms themselves resemble medieval hamlets, with a much higher reliance on magic than technology, there are bits of technology that have trickled their way in through visitors and trade with other realms. They have electricity and are beginning to build more advanced areas of communication to bridge the gaps between kingdoms.

What’s most unique about Byblos, however, is the witches. While it’s could initially be perceived as a patriarchal society - there are a number of kings leading the hamlets, some who have been in power for decades - but that perception would be misleading. Any power that the leaders of the realm have is tenuous, based in the whims of the witches in the area. While not visibly on the throne - though some have tried to take the power for themselves on occasion - powerful witches sit as the power behind the throne dictating the local politics as it suits their whims. This isn’t always a negative thing. If the powerful witch is interested in bettering the lives of her people, then this can lead to periods of relative peace and calm in their hamlets. However, that isn’t always the case - power-hungry witches can lead to periods of tyranny and war just as easily, and they won’t hesitate to depose those who aren’t inclined to follow their lead.

For the leader of the realm, Isis is rather hands off, so long as supplications to her are met. All visitors are expected to leave gifts at the altar in her honor upon arrival - these altars are present in each of the hamlets, as all of them have temples in their patron’s honor. Usually they’re things like gold or jewels, but occasionally people can leave things of a more personal nature.

As far as wildlife is concerned, the standards you would expect from forests of this type - deer, moose, wolves and other game is all available, large and small. There is also a viable fishing industry for some of the more maritime areas, as this is an island after all. For the most part the people there are peaceful and welcoming of visitors, but take advantage of their hospitality and you might want to be careful who you piss off.

    The Land of the Dead

A realm created with Isis resurrected her husband, giving him a kingdom of his own to rule, the Land of the Dead is essentially the Egyptian underworld. It’s not as warm or welcoming as most of the afterlives connected to Teleios, it’s at least better than Hell.

All arrivals will land on a dark stone floor of a large throne room, completely devoid of furniture or markings beyond the solitary obsidian throne at the front of the hall. There they will most likely be greeted by either Osiris or his wife, Isis, and then allowed to move throughout the realm as they see fit.

The palace is made up of tall hallways, which leads to all of the main areas of the palace. Most of the castle is dark, with firelight to show the way down the hallways, and it isn’t until you reach the first open pathway between areas of the castle that they see why. This world doesn’t have a sun, exactly. The sky is light to indicate it’s day, but the ambient light is an odd green color that reflects almost sinisterly off the black obsidian pyramids that line the sky in the distance. Clouds swirl above them, occasionally rumbling with thunder, but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to rain. Off in the far distance, they can see a jagged rise of sharp, obsidian cliffs that hang over the city, almost as protection.

Osiris is also a collector, though, both of the dead and of rare magical items. He has vaults full of artifacts and treasures that no one should access, buried deep within his palace. Most of them are magical items that do interesting things, but there are a few truly dangerous pieces in there, given to him by other agents for safe keeping.

The towns beyond the palace are all made in the same obsidian material as the palace, and are filled with friendly residents that are much more sociable than their king. There are markets there, featuring products from around the world, and are free to be bought as you like. The true areas for the dead, however, are off limits to all visitors. Out of respect, Osiris asks that they’re left in peace.

    Heaven

Heaven is exactly how it sounds. Heaven.

Upon first glance, visitors will find what mostly amounts to a whole lot of … white. White columns along a white stone path, leading up to a glistening (one might even say “pearly”) white gate at the end of it. There is usually an angel there to greet new visitors. They aren’t necessarily the biggest on social skills, but they will direct you where you need to go, if nothing else.

The gates swing open, and they are lead down into a sterling white city, that seems to exist on various levels, as though carved into the sides of walls. There are what looks like windows and doors, all connected by descending staircases. In and out of them wander various people, each with wings, though different sizes and shapes, depending.

The staircases lead along the cliffs in place which eventually forks off, one end continuing downward while the other ventures back up again. If you go up, there is an outcropping of homes, each with tall doors and windows, cut out of the rock like the rest of them.

Each living arrangement has two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom - whatever you may need. Each home is furnished in - shockingly - more white. The counters, cabinets and walls are all carved out of the rock that the room is, and all of the furniture seems to be carved out of an ivory-like material. There are cushions and other small touches strewn about for comfort, and while it doesn’t seem very modern, the stove still heats relatively easily, and one of the cabinets is cooler to the touch, like a refrigerator.

If they choose to venture down to the market places, they’ll find very friendly angels, ready to help them with any needs they have. The market sells various items, from various locations around the world. Anything you can think of, you will be able to find.

If you continue to venture lower, you’ll find the halls of the dead, those who have come here to stay for their eternal rest. The halls are closed to visitors, but occasionally, a soul can reach across the door, usually to those they have a strong emotional connection with. This comes in the form of dreams, a brief conversation that won’t last long, but is long enough for something meaningful.

Not everyone gets the chance to say goodbye, after all.

    Valhalla

Valhalla, the Norse equivalent of Heaven, in myth is a realm dedicated to those who have died an honorable death in battle, presided over by Odin and his wife, Freyja. While for the most part they have remained true to that, since the fall of Asgard, Thor and Sif have moved the stronghold of their realm, as well as their people, here to rule in communion with Odin and double their strength.

When the portal opens on the steps of Valhalla, you are greeted with a long and winding road, leading up to a shining city on a hill. There are always a pair of escorts waiting, ready to greet you upon your arrival and direct you where you need to go. If you are lead here by the Valkyries, you need no escort as they will do that for you, but for the most part, new arrivals are met by formerly Asgardian soldiers, and lead through the city to the halls of Valhalla.

The path to the hall is long, passing villages and hamlets on their way full of people, all stopping to watch, wide eyed at their new visitors. They don’t get many here, and understandably they would like to take note of it all. They will not speak to them directly, however, and the soldiers will keep the group of them moving, some taking up the rear to make sure none of them fall behind. Each of these villages are mostly made up of Asgardian refugees, and these villages contain various marketplaces and crafts shops - blacksmiths, artisans - but are also homes to soldiers and other warriors in Thor’s employ. If asked about the fall of Asgard, and why they have moved to Valhalla, most adults will change the subject and move on to something else, but the children have grand stories of giants, monsters and other terrors that may or may not be true.

As they reach the gleaming city ahead of them, the palace rises in front of them, tall and proud. Odin’s colors - dark, blood red banners - still hang on the windows, but some of them are matched by dark, black material, signifying the loss that the entire city is feeling. The front doors open to a gorgeous marble staircase leading to an open area that’s almost more of an amphitheater than it is a banquet hall. The amphitheater is lined with chairs and tables that almost always have food or drink waiting on them. Most of those living in this palace are those that Odin has claimed for himself - his half of the fallen warriors, and they spend their days feasting and celebrating until they are called into battle again. Each dinner every night is a celebration all it’s own, and those visiting are encouraged to participate.

Passing through the palace, they will find several areas to explore, including a large library several stories tall. Most of the easily accessible books are history books, containing records of battles and long fought wars, or reference books - books on other realms, or even other worlds, written by some of the previous Indebted. Though who have been here a long time may note “Cyrus Marks” as the author of some of them.

Behind the palace itself sits a beautiful garden, laden with plants, flowers and a cascading waterfall that fills a large lake. As you move to the top of the falls and follow the river, you will find your way to the fields of Fólkvangr. This is the home of Freyja’s chosen warriors, a long battlefield that is strewn with golden idols of the dead. These idols don’t seem to be living, but it stands in memoriam of those Freyja has chosen to recognize. Visitors are not permitted past the start of the field, out of respect for those who reside there, but there is a large leatherbound book, resting on a pedestal in the front of the field, where each soul that resides there is listed. Paging through the book, you may be surprised to find names you recognize, both from stories of your own world, friends who have since passed on, or possibly even your enemies. This is the place where they stand, their commemoration for how valiantly they fought and died, and in proud remembrance of who they were.

    The Road So Far ...

The first group of Indebted arrived in January 2013, with a large drafty temple and a ruined city outside to greet them. Odin and Cyrus explained the situation, and most of them were understandably upset at the notion. However, it was slowly made clear that they wouldn’t be going home anytime soon, and some settled into the day-to-day life of the city, while others tried to still search for their way back home. The hunting party investigated the woods, and stumbled onto the fact that there was a rather large dragon hiding in the trees, aiming to prevent them from leaving. Add to that the discovery of personal effects belonging to some of the members found in an abandoned floor above where they were staying, and the temple only continued to be shrouded in more and more mystery.

Still, by the time the Inaugural Feast rolled around at the end of the month, none of them had gotten any further in that department. At the feast they were introduced to both Thor and Attar, two agents who were both equally unhelpful (Attar probably more so than Thor, but Thor was actually trying). During the course of the evening, however, Emma Swan spotted a little girl hiding just outside the entrance to the Great Hall. Upon following her, she determined that the girl was named Sarah and she was being held somewhere in Teleios. She tried to get as much information out of her, but before she could get anything more, there was a sudden earthquake. It passed within ten minutes, but those who were paying attention would have noticed the fact that Attar was gone and both Thor and Odin looked visibly rattled.

Throughout February, things continued to move forward, business as usual, even though the weather still prevented much traffic in and out of the temple. Both Anya and Lucifer went missing in the middle of February, seeming to have disappeared into the blizzard never to be seen again. February also marked the first appearance of statue versions of members of the Indebted appearing throughout the temple. There was a brief appearance by the goddesses of love that shook things up around Valentine’s Day, but beyond that things were quiet until the end of the month.

The last week of February brought another appearance by Sarah to Emma not giving very many clues before what she had before, but a few more clues of Sarah’s previous life were slipped into place. However, she still disappeared, same as before, and in her wake came an earthquake which resulted in a portal opening in the middle of the Great Hall. Spilling through it were Cecilia Valdez, another previous member of the Indebted, the Wolf God named Fenrir, and a giant three-headed hydra, which became stuck in the portal between the world Cecilia was trapped in. She, along with Fenrir and several members of the Indebted, struggled to put the hydra back where it belonged, but the temple was damaged in the process, as well as several people being injured. Cecilia responded to any reprimand that came her way by punching Odin in the face. (It wasn’t on screen, but trust the narration when she says that it was awesome.)

Early on in March, upon getting frustrated with the lack of answers to where the people who go missing actually go, Buffy decided to approach the dragon in the woods and took Elijah, Mitchell and Mal with her. There she found out that Nidhoggr had taken Anya, and is not going to return her unless Buffy does something for him in return. She agreed to make the trip to a city called Ereipo, but she would have to wait for spring in order to actually get there around the snow. Emma was also doing her own investigating, looking into the young girl she kept seeing. She bumped into Cyrus who informed her that she might not be seeing a little girl at all, but actually a young woman named Sally who went missing during the tenure of the previous city. Emma was determined to help her, and Cyrus wanted to do the same, so he said he would look into the answers that he could find among the agents’ records.

Not long after, Ares made an appearance in the city, looking for champions for his games. It was a few days later that a group of Indebted were selected for the first “mission” of this stay in the city, a chance to participate in Ares’s gladiator games, going to bat against the chosen champions - Klaus Mikaelson and Lydia Martin. The games where held outside the city in his own personal arena, and the Indebted gave them quite the show. He bestowed gifts on all the winners, and even offered positions in his employ to James Bond and Klaus, but in his gifts happened to go a mysterious key that Stefan Salvatore felt compelled to pick up.

While this was happening outside of the city, several changes were taking place in Teleios as well, the most of important of which being the season. Spring arrived in Teleios, and with it came Michael, the archangel and new agent in charge, as well as more of an idea of how much damage was truly done to the city. Still, most of the Indebted were happy to simply go outside and explore the world as it was. Given this newfound mobility, Cyrus briefed Buffy and her team on what exactly they were to expect in Ereipo, and gave them enough supplies to send them on their way. The next day Buffy, the Doctor, Amy Pond, Peter Hale, John Mitchell and Elijah Mikaelson set off on their journey where they retrieved the Book of Thoth and brought it back to the dragon. Nidhoggr performed his own version of a bait and switch however, and instead of Anya, he returned Lucifer to them instead.

While they were gone, however, all was not quiet back at the homestead. Sally appeared for a third time, this time to Emma, Hook and Cyrus. There was a small heartfelt moment where she briefly to flickered to show who she really was but in the end, and she mentioned that she had a brother named Max, she still disappeared, with a minor rumble left in her wake. Towards the end of March, Michael gave gifts in honor of the celebration of Passover and Easter, and Attar made his second appearance in the city, mostly to give Michael, who was revealed to be his sister, a hard time. There was a minor confrontation in the Great Hall, but after that Attar was free to wander as he saw fit. He eventually bumped into Kate Beckett, where he helped her start her murder board and gave her a challenge to solve, after her turn in the arena didn’t work out so well for her.

In early April, Thor took an interest in Hook’s ship and asked him for a favor. He sent him to the land of Lapurrak Santutegia, a realm of pirates, and find a man by the name of Sandoval. While Hook was there, he ran into a man named Max Walitzer, who claimed to be Sally’s brother. Max agreed to help Hook track down Sandoval, provided that Hook help him in trying to save his sister. They then ventured to the Cave of Wonders, navigated their way through the piles of treasure and found Jack, happy as a clam, claiming that he got himself trapped there on purpose. Neither Hook nor Max were amused. After nearly getting them trapped in the cave permanently, Max wound up knocking Jack unconscious and helping Hook haul him and his treasure back to the Jolly Roger. Before parting ways, as Max still had his own quest to complete, Max asked Hook to track down a key that was last seen in the Ares’s trophy room.

While he was gone, recovery was starting to work it’s way through the city, and pieces of the lives that the other Indebted used to lead were starting to take shape. Spencer Reid found a large chest inside one of the houses, and upon opening it, he found that they belonged to Cyrus, and contained a series of recordings, dictating the events of his life in the fifty years that he had spent in the city. He decided to dig through the recordings in an attempt to learn as much as he can about the situation.

Meanwhile, statue versions of the residents continues to be an even more prominent problem, especially in the month of April, eventually catching the attention of the Doctor when it happens to Amy. He promised that he would look into it at Rory’s behest, and the need to know what was going on only intensified, along with his anger, when it happened to Rory as well. After an angry confrontation with Michael, it was discovered that the process of turning the residents into a statue is some kind of defense mechanism by the temple. She wasn’t able to say more than that at the time, and the Doctor didn’t think it was a very good answer, but she promised that they would stay safe in the meantime, and he took her at her word. Towards the end of the month, there was another earthquake, but in this particular instance, there was no appearance of Sally or Sarah, just the quake itself.

The beginning of May, Attar returned to the temple offering honest answers in exchange for the answer to his riddle. Some took better advantage of that opportunity than others (here’s looking at you Mitchell), but in return Attar laid more than a few seeds, including one he may or may not regret in Peter Hale. He also brought a bar. You’re welcome.

Around the same time, Hook returned from his mission, and informed Emma what he learned from Max and about the key they may be able to find among Ares’s selections from the previous mission. They then set out to track down the victors where they eventually ran into Stefan Salvatore, who admitted to having the key in question.

The city continued to grow, both through recovery and the starts of buildings being built throughout the city. In the wreckage, Rose Tyler found a book of names, some of whom were members of the Indebted that were currently in the city -- none of whom remember being there. She later takes the book to Cecilia in the name of getting some answers, and she finds out that the book was the guestbook of the city, signed by every Indebted who passed through their doors, and the mayor kept track of their presence in the city. Meanwhile, in less pleasant discoveries, the statues were found to not be as durable as previously claimed when March Hare shattered the poor marquis de Carabas into many, many pieces.

Still, as the month progresses, Attar reveals his real reason for being in Teleios this time around. He’s here on a mission, and needs people to go into Hell for him. Gold, River Song, the Doctor, Athelstan, Nick Cutler and Hook are the chosen few, and Alloces leads them down the roads of their good intentions to get to the thing that Attar sent them for. Victory was at hand, until it was revealed that there was one more trial before the end of the road. One member of the party had to kill the other in order to open the door. In the meelee, Hook was killed by Gold. With the necessary betrayal completed, the door swung open to reveal a woman named Lilith. That was about all they managed to get out of her before Alloces demanded they move on and take her back to Attar, where they would discuss payment.

Back in Teleios, Rebekah Mikaelson was approached by Thor involving a favor that was related to the one that was asked of Hook, but involved going to approach the Amazons, who he was certain would find themselves very immune to Hook’s particular charm, and thought that Rebekah would be a good match. Rebekah agreed and was sent to Thebes where she had a sit-down conversation with Hippolyta and managed to obtain the property that Thor sought to be returned, in return for a favor owed. Rebekah agreed to the terms of the deal, and left Thebes to return to Teleios.

Sally also made another one of her monthly appearances, this time as herself and she and Emma had a long talk about how she got there. She explained that the earthquakes come from a bowl being held over the eyes of an agent she couldn’t remember the name of, and the venom of a snake that drops into her eyes. She heard that Hook had had contact with Max and she was hopeful. Emma promised that she would be coming to get her soon, and Sally promised to try and keep the earthquake as minimal as possible.

The first of June came round, and with it came the appearance of a very irate Captain Hook, courtesy of Attar’s promise to fix whatever he broke. After that, the participants of the mission started to trickle back in slowly, all with the exception of the Doctor, who was sent home for a canon bump. Another new arrival in the city was Athena, who spent a lot of her time here saying no. She also cursed a few people, but she’s fairly certain they deserved it. Later on came another change in season, which welcomed both Atum and Lilith to the city, and Attar settled up his last bit of business from his mission.

June and July provided another small uptick in the presence of the statues in the temple, which was starting to get under the skin of one Bruce Banner. He reached out to Attar, who still owed him an answer to his question, and found out much of what was already told to the Doctor -- it was for protection -- but also may have gotten a hint that there was something that the temple was trying to protect the Indebted from. And whatever it was, it was already in the city.

    Lapurrak Santutegia

The story of Lapurrak Santutegia is this.

The Pirate King, formerly a member of the indebted himself, made a wager with Hermes, the Greek god of thieves. He proposed that if he could complete an impossible task, the god would grant him both his own realm, and the immortality to oversee it and it’s inhabitants forever. Hermes, not being a fool, perceived that since there were two favors involved, his wager should involve two impossible tasks, and the Pirate King agreed.

What the tasks are depends on the person who’s telling the story. Some say, that the he had to face a fowl unkillable beast. Some say that he had to steal something that couldn’t be stolen. The stories get more and more outlandish as time goes on, but that’s the way legends work. One person does something extraordinary and the rest of the world continues, trying it’s best to make it more than it is.

The point of the matter is this: the tasks were completed, and the Pirate King was granted his own realm, autonomous to any agent or government, a hive where the pirates of the world could go for safe sanctuary, and all the ale and revelry they could ever want.

It’s recommended that unless you have the ability to swim long distances, if you wish to enter the realm, you do so with a boat. Mostly because the entrance to the world drops you right into the water. The initial descent out of the portal is a smooth one, with the winds picking up just when you need it to, over an ocean of perfect blue. The seas are entirely beautiful, manufactured to be perfect for no other reason than being something of fantasy. Perfection is a currency here, and this realm has more than enough wealth to pay for it.

The port itself is what you would expect from most hives of piracy, at least from the outside. The docks are littered with pirates singing sea shanties and ships that of varying sizes, all carrying the coal black flag of a pirate. They're not all exactly the same, but they all mean the same. This is a haven for those who do not care if they are “lost.” They answer the call of the sea, the call of freedom, and that is enough for any man to be saved.

In a realm that was created by a pirate, for pirates and thieves, it maintains it's ugly facade, even as you move further into port. The taverns and pubs are littered with dirt and grime, with the sounds of their rambunctious patrons echoing from within. As you venture further and further into the city, however, some of the grime comes away, and this place hints at a treasure within, a diamond in the rough waiting to be found and exposed for what it is. The fabled Pirate King sits far away on a throne, out of the reach of both his people and outsiders alike. They all say that he will come forth when the time is right, and until then, the king is something you protect.

    Every chess player knows that.

In order to remain a resident of Lapurrak Santutegia, you must be a pirate, which includes occasionally pillaging, stealing and the like. There is only one rule or code that the pirates must live by: violence against women or children is forbidden, and any act of such will not only grant as expulsion from the realm, but certain execution at the hands of the Pirate King himself.

Pirates must also contribute to the communal treasury, held safe in the Cave of Wonders. The cave itself is protected by magic, shielded from the rest of the world, as well as having a habit of tricking men into falling into the trappings of their own greed. Once granted access to the cave, you are only allowed to obtain what you’ve come for, nothing more and nothing less, otherwise your life is deemed forfeit as a result. Even with this risk, however, all men and women within their walls live well, comfortably and happily, doing what they love and venturing out to see whenver they are in need of the next new adventure.

    Ares’s Arena

The majority of Ares’s realm exists within a giant, golden colosseum. It’s an arena built to hold thousands of spectators but still make sure that every seat is a good one. It’s a square arena, with a side for each separate group of agents. On the Greek side, Ares’s box is sitting at the top of the colosseum, a grand golden throne with plenty of space around him.

While during the games, the indebted arrive directly in the arena, in the “off season,” they arrive near (or occasionally in) the moat leading up to the gate of the arena, about a mile away. The journey to the gate is fairly safe, with nearly no obstacles on the way to the door, unless of course, they land in the moat, in which case, we hope you know how to swim.

All residents of the arena are completely powered, no matter how temporarily they’re going to be there, or what their power status is back in Teleios. However, unless you’re claimed by Ares, that status is a temporary one. You are only allowed in the realm so long as Ares allows you to stay, and if you die, you’ll find yourself back in Teleios before you can even blink. And in this realm, that is a definite possibility.

At least you don’t stay dead.

When the arena isn’t in use, it’s mostly used as a training area. There is a wide range of weapons available, so whether you’re brushing up on skills you already have or trying to learn something new, you have access to the tools you need. When you leave the arena, straight up the stairs you’ll find the green room, a lavish lounge where contestants wait during the arena games. In the off season, there’s a bar with the finest liquors, as well as cigars and other items of luxury (at least by Ares’s standards).

If you make your way around to the other side of the arena, you’ll find the dormitories for those Ares has claimed. These are lavish rooms, trimmed in gold and ivory with comfortable beds. Each room has it’s own bathroom, and there’s also a Turkish bath. Everything is opulence and lavish luxury, built to meet Ares’s tastes.

The only room that isn’t accessible outside of tournament days is the trophy room. All of Ares’s most valued possessions are kept in that room, and he keeps access to it very strongly controlled. Don’t try looking for it - you won’t find it.

    Job Assignments - Summer

Characters are required to work every day to keep the temple running smoothly. While the jobs assigned may vary from month to month throughout the year, who does what job is determined either by the amount of debt they have, or their particular skill set, so they may find themselves doing the same job month-to-month. These jobs are necessary jobs that are assigned to the indebted every month. Job assignments are listed alongside the room assignments for your character to find in the main area of the temple.

How often the jobs will change depends on the kind of job you’re doing. Most of the basic jobs will change seasonally, and most people will keep it all three months. Sometimes they will get switched up to accommodate events that are happening within the month, but for the most part, they will be doing the same thing. Some jobs are only available during one month, based on things happening within that month (ie. attendants for visiting agents, feast planning or something similar, etc.), and will change once the need for it has passed.

NOTE: Your character's debt totals are not listed ICly on the debt chart. They are only listed here for your OOC reference.

    Starting Your Own Business

However, part of building community is building your own businesses and economy. As the game grows, your character may establish a permanent position for themselves within the city -- for example, in a business they started, or as a craftsman -- comment to this post using the form below to give a description of the business and where it’s located, and I will add it to the list here. If you are joining a pre-existing permanent business, comment with the character’s name and their current debt count.

    Permanent Businesses

    Baal’s Trading Post

    Owner: Baal | Native
    Business Type: Trading Post

Description: This is really a front for Baal's smuggling business in Teleios. Pretty much people can trade in items for gold or trade, or request items for Baal to try and acquire for them from the other realms. The front part of the store is filled with some very basic items for sale - cloth, exotic foods and herds, trinkets, and jewelery. The staff run the front room.

The back room is Baal's office where the more "hot" items live. Items that are traded in that would be better sold in other realms are stored in a locked cart covered in blankets - it's too hot to sell them right now, right? There are hidden compartments under the floor were items smuggled in are held until the one who ordered them comes to pick them up.

There is also a little nest of pillows in the back office over the compartments that make up Baal's bed. In case he doesn't want to hike all the way back to his ship that night.

If you are looking to buy or sell, here is the request post

    Business Type: Amusement Park

Description: Elysifun World originally started as the Ferris Wheel from Navy Pier in Chicago as an agent gift for Helen Magnus in 2014. The same year, the Cyclone from 1940's Coney Island was added with a ticket booth as an agent gift for Bucky Barnes and the park was dubbed "Elysifun". Tickets could be "bought" from Kali at the ticket booth out front, but the rides are self-maintained thanks to Teleios magic. During the 2015 round of Easter Agentmas, the entirety of Disney World -- including Disney, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and the hotels, resorts, and restaurants within the park -- was added to the park thanks to Sawyer Thomas. While the entire park is self-maintained and the rides run themselves, there are still jobs available. Restaurants need waiters and chefs, Disney needs characters, and someone has to dress up like a beer wench in Epcot Germany -- it's the law. Anyone can claim the hotels and resorts to run like a boarding house for housing if they so chose.

As the word danger is more than just implied, use requires advanced booking, a waiver that says that the Fujisaki twins and their holdings are not libel for any injuries, death, or other incidents in the danger room, and danger room bookings must be paid in advance.

The Fujisaki twins are always looking to hire instructors, personal trainers, cleaning staff, and office staff so that they can actually ever go to school. However these people will not be invited to live there with them.

The rest of the homestead is a private residence so you'll have to use the messaging keypad at the front door in the concrete dome to let Luke know you're there. It was started by the Skywalkers as a simple garage, then taken over by Nick after they left, but now Luke is back and it was upgraded to the full Lars homestead in April 2015.

    Business Type: Planetarium

Description: Partially constructed by the Doctor himself, and completed with the aid of a redeemed favour from the agents, the Planetarium opened in August 2014. It's a largely wooden circular structure with a striking copper dome rising above it. Inside it's adorned with carvings of elegant circles; Gallifreyan words and pictures. There are cushioned seats set out that recline backwards for the best view of the domed roof, where the Doctor can project all manner of strange star systems and charts.

The Planetarium is the perfect place for anybody wanting to learn more about the stars and space and anything vaguely sciency. It's a place too where homesick people might have the skies of their homeland recreated to see as if they were there again. Or if you're simply looking for a bit of night for the months when it's always daytime.

    Temple Accomodations

The accommodations in Teleios are all about taking advantage of all the space they can. While the rooms themselves can be rather spacious, they need to fit an entire city in the temple during the winter. Rooms sleep four, and are stretched across the second floor of the temple, possibly to extend to the third, depending on how many people they need to contain. They are also coed meaning they are not going to waste a bed because of people’s delicate sensibilities. However, if you do have a problem with your accommodations -- as in your character will not be able to handle sleeping in a room with members of the opposite sex for whatever reason -- they can ICly talk to either the agent or indebted in charge to have their room changed.

Families that arrive together are kept together, and assignments change every winter. Assignments may be also subject to change pending future arrivals (to allow parents to stay with children, or spouses to stay together), but your character will be ICly spoken to before that happens. Once the characters start to rebuild the city and build homes of their own, they are welcome to move out of the temple and into their own homes, but once winter comes around again, they are encouraged to move back into the temple to protect themselves from the weather.

Each room comes with the four beds, arranged in bunk bed style (as seen above), a closet for linens, and a private bathroom to be shared between all roommates. There are also heavy oak dressers for each person within the room, so that they can store whatever belongings they collect or bring with them from their home. Dirty clothes, linens and towels will be taken out by the maids and manservants, and returned by the end of the day, clean and pressed. There is a communal area where residents can get clothes, toiletries, and anything else they may need for their stay.

  • As the city starts to rebuild, characters are going to be given more and more options for moving out of the temple. Should your character claim a permanent residence for themselves, comment here and I will add them to the list of residences. New arrivials to the temple will still be assigned a temple room however if they have family or friends who are living in the city that they can stay with, they are free to move there as soon as it suits them.

If you are adding a new residence, use this form:

If you are joining a prexisting residence, use this form and comment to the thread with the residence in question:

If you are moving multiple people out of the temple when adding a new residence, please have them comment to your comment to confirm that they are, in fact, moving. If you are taking over a preexisting residence that is empty, please repost the comment for the residence in question as a new residence.

under the cut to make things easier )

If you would like to request interaction with any of our lovely NPCs outside of any of the NPC posts made, start a post (the mod suggests open, so you can get CR from some of the PCs as well), and fill out the form below. The mod will get the requested NPC over there ASAP.

Interaction with NPCs counts as additional activity for the month, but can not be used as your main activity. You also can not request interaction with NPCs that have not been introduced to the game yet. No skipping ahead and trying to meet the Two. However, you can request NPCs from "The Departed" section. More details on that to come.
